The Verbs

The Bible has a lot to say about the human heart. Here are three heartfelt lessons filled
with wisdom from the book of Proverbs.

ELEMENTARY LESSONS:

MEMORY VERSE:  

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." -Proverbs 3:5-6

Lesson 1: Trust with Your Heart

What does it mean to trust God with all our hearts, when it comes to how we follow
Jesus?
Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6, Proverbs 10:8-9

Lesson 2: Guard Your Heart

How do we follow Christ’s example in guarding our hearts, along with the rest of our
bodies?
Scripture: Proverbs 4:23-27

Lesson 3: Purify Your Heart

Only perfectly blameless people are kept safe from the consequences of sin. But none
of us are perfect. How does Jesus save us, when we aren’t blameless?
