However, each week will offer a new way to present that Bible story to your group using creative storytelling techniques, crafts, games, and more! You'll also get a take home sheet for parents and a special lesson for 1 & 2 year olds.

Week 1: Jesus Came for Everyday People
Big Idea: Mary was an everyday Jewish peasant. She was about as common and they came. She had no special status. She wasn’t from a royal or wealthy family. But God entrusted her with the responsibility of carrying our Savior into this world, and raising him from infancy, to adulthood. Most of us go through life feeling unexceptional. But God sent Jesus for ordinary people. And when we are obedient, He will entrust us wo do great things for Him.

Week 2: Jesus Came for Outcasts
Big Idea: 2000 years ago, in the Ancient Near East, Shepherds were outcasts. They were typically hired hands who didn’t own the sheep they cared for. Because they handled animals, lived with animals, and even slept on the ground alongside animals, shepherds were usually considered to be “unclean” by Jewish standards. But God sent a choir of angels to announce the birth of his Son, to these unclean outcasts.

Week 3: Jesus Came for Outsiders
Big Idea: Although past Bible translations have whitewashed the word “magi” as “wise men” or “scholars,” in the original language, this word clearly refers to those who practiced magic. The magi were pagan foreigners who practiced divination and astrology. Because they were Gentiles, Jewish law didn’t allow them to enter the temple, beyond the outer courts. Beyond that, the sorcery that they practiced was forbidden by Moses, and punishable by death. But this doesn’t stop God from inviting them to find Jesus.

Week 4: Jesus Came for Everybody!
Big Idea: In this celebration lesson, we will review the previous three weeks, emphasizing that Jesus came for everyday people, for outcasts, and for outsiders. We’ll highlight the announcement to the shepherds that Jesus is good news for all people.
